Paul Overend is editor of Sofia (and formerly SoF), the Sea of Faith magazine, and the lead editor of the Sea of Faith book, A Philosophy of Life: The Spirituality of Don Cupitt (2027). Reading Cupitt and other radical theologians, alongside mystical spirituality and monastic theology, led him to study theology and seek ordination. His PhD in Philosophy (2004) was on the ethics of Emmanuel Lévinas. As a priest, for 30 years, he worked in various roles in theological education and ministerial training. More recent courses in Existential Psychotherapy (NSPC) and Buddhist Psychology (ITZI) also informed his understanding of spirituality.
